It's the eyes that make it so confusing. Everything else reads differently enough - in terms of looks, heights and proportions - that it's hard not to be aware that this is abnormal. Yet, when he focuses on the jade of her eyes he can almost forget that she's not herself. Her usual self, anyway.

The spell lasts for a moment or two while her fingers card through his hair. A tenderness that says 'thank you' without saying the words themselves. Which is fine with him. He doesn't know how to respond to praise gently.
